A canoe tour through the Scandinavian wilderness is an unforgettable adventure that brings back childhood dreams of expeditions through uncharted territories. Guests that have previous canoe experience, can rent a canoe and all additional equipment by the week or day. This alternative is also great for guests that have proviously participated in one of our guided tours, and would now want to venture out on their own.

It is desireable to have some experience with the great outdoors, and in addition some knowledge of reading maps. Especially important is to follow all regulations imposed to protect the environment, for example never to leave garbage behind, disturb wildlife or pick protected plants.

Detailed maps of Värmland, Dalsland and Norway can be purchased at the base camp, where you will also receive help in planning your tour.

Canoe rental/Equipment. Per week in SEK. 01.05.-30.09. 2008.

Low Season 01.05. -14.06. and 23.08. - 30.09.2008.

Canoe rental include: canoe, paddles, lifejackets, spade and garbage bag.

The Nature Conservation Card allows you use prepared camp sites, where you have shelters, toilets and fireplaces/wood. You pay SEK 20 per person and night. The contribution is used for nature conservation projects in the region and for maintenance.

Blomsjöturen

Provision: Lennartsfors.  

Portages: 3.

Blomsjöturen is the most popular of our week long trips. A distance of approx. 65 km, one lock and three portages. Varying waterways with small and large lakes and rivers.

Aspernturen

Provision: Otteid, Strömsfoss og Nössemark.

Portages: 2.

Aspernturen primarily takes place on the Norwegian side, with a distance of approximately 90 km, it is a little more challenging than Blomsjöturen, but a great challenge for the more demanding canoer. The tour includes one lock and two portages.

Rödenesturen

Provision: Otteid, Örje, Östervallskog og Töcksfors.

Portages: 5.

The average canoer will need two weeks for Rödenesturen. The tour journeys through both Sweden and Norway and is approximately 130 km long. It offers varying terrain and waterways.

All tours include: canoe, paddles, lifejackets, spade, garbage bag, canoe cart, waterproof container, tarpaulin, maps and a tour description. Additional SEK 135 for a 3-persons canoe.
